Type-C / DP Multi Tester VA-1846

1. Outline
   DisplayPort and USB Type-C are becoming popular interfaces for the global market.
   VA-1846 is Multi Tester which supports DP (1.2a), and DP Alt Mode of USB Type-C.
2. Functions
   1. DP Alt Mode on USB Type-C (Receiver Side)
      - IF Converter, and Analyze Mode are supported.
      1. Converts DP signal 1.2a signal on Type-C
      2. Analyzing DP 1.2a signal on Type-C
         A) Video Timing Analysis
         B) MSA, VB-ID Analysis
         C) Infoframe/Packet Analysis
         D) DPCD, EDID Edit Analysis
         E) AUX Monitor Analysis
         F) Raw data Capture (not fixed yet)
         G) Audio Analysis (not supported on MST mode)
         H) MST Receive (not fixed yet. Maximum 4 Stream even supported)
   2. DP Alt Mode on USB Type-C (Transmitter Side)
      - IF Converter, Generate Mode are supported.
      1. Converts DP signal from DP Standard connector to Type-C by DP Alt Mode
      2. Send DP 1.2a signal on Type-C
         A) VESA, CTA timings Output(only SST)
         B) Infoframe/Packet Send
         C) DPCD, EDID Edit and Analysis
         D) AUX Monitor Analysis
         E) Audio Output (not supported on MST)
         F) MST Receive
   3. DP Alt Mode on USB Type-C Send / Receive
      - Type-C to Type-C Through Mode supported
      - Type-C Specific negotiation pin (CC pin) Analsis
      - VDM Edit and Analysis
      - USB PD (Power Delivery) supported
      1. Measurement of current when power fed
      2. Change of voltage when power fed
      3. Measurement of current when received (additional loading is required)
      4. Measurement of voltage when received
         *Change of USB PD Status
         Note : External loading is required when measuring current. External DC power is required when feeding power current.
   4. DP Send / Receive
      DP 1.2a signal Analysis and Generation on DP Standard input/output connector
      *Analysis and Genereate Mode is same as DP 1.2a analysis of DP Alt Mode on Type-C.
